Arab countries increase purchases and boost Brazilian beef exports.

At least three Arab countries, Algeria, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates, recorded significant increases in beef imports from Brazil last year compared to 2024 volumes, according to information from the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries (Abiec).

Based on data from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), Abiec reported that Algeria imported a volume 292.6% higher, while purchases from Egypt rose 222.5% and those from the United Arab Emirates advanced 176.1%.

Last year, Brazil achieved its highest volume of beef exports, shipping 3.50 million tons, representing an increase of 20.91% compared to 2024. The revenue generated was US$18.03 billion, approximately 40.11% more. The data includes fresh meat, processed meat, offal, and other products.

In total, Brazilian beef was supplied to more than 170 countries in 2025. China was the main destination, accounting for 48% of the total volume exported by Brazil, with 1.68 million tons, generating US$8.90 billion. Following China, the other largest markets, in descending order, were the United States, Chile, the European Union, Russia, and Mexico.
