The above-average rainfall recorded during the winter was cited by the Research Center as one of the main factors for the delay. In addition to slowing down the pace of grain harvesting, the excess rainfall also affected the quality of the coffee obtained.
According to Cepea, the 2026/27 harvest shows a high incidence of batches classified as inferior quality, a scenario that places quality among the main points of concern this season.
With the harvest nearing its end, market participants are now shifting their attention to other indicators that could define the sector's performance in the coming months.
Researchers at Cepea highlight that the market is now focused on the volume that will actually be confirmed at the end of the harvest, as well as the speed of commercialization of the available coffee. Another point on the radar is the formation of the next season. According to the Research Center, the development of the flowering responsible for the 2027/28 harvest is gaining importance as the harvesting work of the current cycle is completed.
