In light of rising production costs, market difficulties and prohibitive interest rates, the Mato Grosso Soybean and Corn Producers Association (Aprosoja MT) has been receiving constant complaints from producers regarding increases in the State Transportation and Housing Fund (Fethab), resulting from its link to the inflation rate. As a result, the organization has sought measures from the Mato Grosso State Government and the Mato Grosso State Legislative Assembly (ALMT) to mitigate this impact on rural producers' profitability.
Sensitive to this demand, both ALMT, through its president, deputy Max Russi, and Governor Mauro Mendes, have been working hard to find solutions to avoid an uncontrolled increase in this contribution.
On Tuesday (01.07), we received information that the Governor will submit a bill to the Assembly that authorizes the freezing of increases in the Fiscal Standard Unit (UPF), directly impacting the calculation of Fethab. With this, the commitment made between the Governor and Aprosoja MT is to keep the value frozen until the end of the year, a measure for which the entity is immediately grateful.
Now, Aprosoja MT hopes that ALMT will approve the project, thus avoiding an inflationary effect on a contribution intended to improve infrastructure, but which should not, due to the country's lack of fiscal control, compromise the income of rural producers.
