Brazil expands its animal nutrition exports, targeting Angola and France

The demand for quality animal foods continues to grow worldwide, which has also boosted the animal feed and nutrition market. According to the Alltech Agri-Food Outlook 2025 report, Brazil produced 86.6 million tons of feed in 2024, remaining among the three largest global producers. Furthermore, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), there was a 14% increase in pet food exports in 2024, reflecting the increased agility in issuing international certificates and the growing interest in Brazilian nutritional solutions.

According to José Ricardo Loschi, who holds a Master's degree in Finance and Economics, personalization is what opens doors in more demanding markets. "When we adapt animal nutrition to the genetics, metabolism, and management of each herd, we can deliver greater productive efficiency and added value. This difference has been crucial in winning over clients in regions as diverse as Angola and France," he states.

On the African continent, Angola has increased its imports of agricultural inputs and cereal by-products, creating opportunities for the entry of animal feed preparations. In France, the gateway to the European Union, the challenge lies in meeting strict quality standards, such as certifications of good feed manufacturing practices, in addition to proving traceability and safety throughout the production process.

According to the Brazilian Association of Animal Nutrition Products Industry (Sindirações), the export of animal feed preparations represents one of the most promising avenues for Brazil to diversify its markets. Higher-value products, such as concentrates, cores, and premixes with functional additives, have been gaining ground precisely because they offer traceability and meet the specific demands of each region.

This expansion is accompanied by a regulatory effort: the map has expanded the list of countries authorized to import Brazilian animal nutrition, which shortens the time to access premium markets. For international players, the combination of production scale, quality, and customization makes Brazil a competitive and reliable supplier. "Sustainable growth in the export of nutritional solutions depends on understanding the reality of each territory and delivering exactly what each market needs. This combination of science, efficiency, and customer proximity is what ensures the opening of new frontiers and the consolidation of solid commercial relationships," emphasizes Loschi.
