Brazil opens market in Mozambique for export of poultry genetic material.

The Brazilian government concluded sanitary negotiations with Mozambique, which resulted in the authorization of Brazilian exports of poultry genetic material (fertile eggs and day-old chicks) to that country.

In addition to contributing to the improvement of the quality of the Mozambican livestock, this market opening promotes the diversification of Brazil's partnerships and the expansion of Brazilian agribusiness in Africa, by offering future opportunities for national producers, given the great potential of the African continent in terms of economic and demographic growth.

With approximately 33 million inhabitants, Mozambique imported over US$24 million worth of agricultural products from Brazil between January and November 2025, with animal protein being the most prominent category.

With this announcement, Brazilian agribusiness has reached 521 new trade opportunities in 81 destinations since the beginning of 2023.

These results are the fruit of joint work between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
