Guatemalan health authorities have completed the technical evaluation process and authorized the first six Brazilian establishments to export beef and meat products to the country, following an on-site audit conducted in Brazilian territory.
The decision consolidates the opening of the Guatemalan market to Brazilian beef, which occurred in December 2025, and allows the start of exports, expanding opportunities for the national production sector in Central America.
The result reinforces Brazil's sanitary credibility on the international stage and highlights the country's ability to meet the technical and sanitary requirements demanded by its trading partners.
With a population of 18 million, Guatemala imported more than US$222 million in Brazilian agricultural products in 2025, a figure that demonstrates the relevance of the trade relationship between the two countries and the potential for expanding Brazil's export portfolio.
For Brazil, this authorization represents another step forward in the presence of Brazilian beef in Central America and in the strategy of diversifying markets for Brazilian agribusiness.
The Ministry of Agriculture will continue working to expand the number of authorized establishments and open new opportunities for Brazilian agricultural products abroad.
