Bioind MT considers the increase in the anhydrous ethanol blend in gasoline to 30% (E30) a historic advance for Brazil. The measure strengthens the energy transition, values national biofuel production and consolidates the country's energy sovereignty at a time of great geopolitical uncertainty.
In addition to directly contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the E30 increases the competitiveness of the sugar-energy sector and generates relevant benefits for the Brazilian trade balance, by reducing the need to import fossil fuels.
With this possible change, Mato Grosso — the largest producer of corn ethanol in the country — should see a significant impact, with an increase in demand for the biofuel. This is an opportunity to accelerate regional development, generate jobs and income, and position the state as a protagonist in the new national energy matrix.
