Brazil signs agreement with Sarawak for beef and chicken exports

The Brazilian government announced that, during a visit by the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Fávaro, to Sarawak, Malaysia, the International Health Certificate (CSI) model was signed for the export of poultry and beef from Brazil.

In 2024, Brazil exported more than 30,000 tons of these proteins to the Malaysian market, generating around US$1,500,000. Sarawak, located on an island separate from mainland Malaysia and with a population of approximately 2.5 million, has specific health criteria for food imports. With the approval of the CSI by the state, the expectation is a significant increase in the volume exported in the coming years.

With this new opening, Brazilian agribusiness reaches its 44th market qualification in 2025, adding 344 new commercial opportunities since the beginning of 2023.
