The 2025/2026 grain harvest in Paraná has the potential to be one of the largest in history, according to a harvest report published by the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (Seab), this Thursday (25).
With winter harvests progressing satisfactorily, production is projected to reach around 46 million tons in this cycle. This volume surpasses the 2023/2024 harvest (38.48 million tons) and also the record set in 2022/2023 (45.48 million tons).
From January to August, Paraná exported 1.97 million tons of corn, compared to 756.6 thousand tons in the same period in 2024. Sales generated US$1,500,000, or R$1,500,000. The main destination for Paraná's corn was Iran, which purchased 451,000,000 of the total. Next came Vietnam (171,000,000) and Turkey (81,000,000).
On the national scene, however, the movement was the opposite: Brazilian corn exports from January to August totaled 15.75 million tons, a drop of 12% compared to the same period in 2024.

The IBGE's Municipal Livestock Survey showed that the number of cows milked in the country fell by 15,561 TP4T in 2024. In Paraná, the reduction was from 1.17 million to 1.14 million animals. Even so, milk production increased, reaching 3.9 billion liters compared to 3.6 billion the previous year, a result of increased productivity with genetic, nutritional, and management improvements.
While the dairy herd has declined, the hog herd has grown. The state currently has approximately 7.3 million head, representing 16.6% of the national herd. Compared to 2023, there was an increase of 5.35% (366,000 animals). Santa Catarina remains the leader with 9.3 million hogs, followed by Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul (6.2 million), and Minas Gerais (5.7 million). Among the municipalities, Toledo leads with 950,000 head, followed by Uberlândia (MG), Marechal Cândido Rondon (PR), Concórdia (SC), and Tapurah (MT).

Paraná's egg exports between January and August of this year reached 4,373 tons, according to Agrostat Brasil/MAPA, securing the state fourth place in the national ranking. Brazil exported 42,953 tons in the period, an increase of 50.91 TP4T compared to 2024.
The United States remains the top buyer, with 19,437 tons and revenue of US$1.4 million. Considering only table eggs (fresh and processed), Brazilian exports totaled 32,303 tons, an increase of 192.21 metric tons compared to last year's 11,057 tons.
According to Deral, Brazilian egg exports in August totaled 2,129 tons, compared to 1,239 tons in the same month of 2024, with revenue of US$1.5 million compared to US$1.5 million in the previous year. The reduction in sales to the US reflects the high tariffs imposed by the US government. On the other hand, Brazil resumed business with the United Arab Emirates and Mexico, in addition to increasing shipments to Japan and Chile.
