The week will be characterized by predominantly dry and very hot weather across much of the Central-West region of Brazil. According to meteorologist Estael Sias, the rainfall totals predicted until Friday are low and concentrated mainly in isolated areas of Mato Grosso do Sul.
The precipitation map for the next five days indicates virtually no rain in Mato Grosso, Goiás, and the Federal District. In Mato Grosso do Sul, despite the possibility of isolated showers, the predicted volumes remain low and without significant impact on crops.
"Rainfall may occur in localized areas between Campo Grande, Corumbá, and the far south of the state, but it is neither widespread nor sufficient to promote soil moisture recovery," explained Estael Sias.
Besides the drought, the heat is also noteworthy. Temperatures are expected to remain high throughout the week, especially between Mato Grosso and Goiás, where thermometers could reach between 34°C and 36°C in several cities. Regions such as Alta Floresta, northeastern Mato Grosso, and parts of Goiás will experience several consecutive days of intense heat.
According to the meteorologist, the lack of rain also favors soil warming, with temperatures close to 25°C to 29°C during the afternoons, a scenario that requires attention from rural producers.
In Nova Andradina (MS), the forecast indicates only isolated drizzles and low rainfall volumes throughout the week. However, atmospheric conditions favor spraying operations on most days, thanks to the combination of low humidity, little rain, and moderate winds.
Meanwhile, in Sapezal (MT), an important grain-producing region, the weather remains stable and persistently hot. Weather maps indicate a complete absence of rain in the coming days, along with high temperatures in both the air and the ground.
According to Estael, the trend is for the dry and hot pattern to continue across virtually the entire Central-West region throughout the week.
