Coamo has taken another important step in expanding its infrastructure in Mato Grosso do Sul. On Monday morning (02), the cooperative started operations at two new grain receiving units: one in the district of Itahum, in Dourados, and another in the municipality of Amambai.
Combined, the two units represented an investment of over R$ 191 million, figures that reinforce Coamo's commitment to regional development, improved logistics, and increasingly personalized service to its members.
According to Coamo's CEO, Airton Galinari, Coamo is always investing in infrastructure and promoting regional development in the municipalities where it operates. “The inaugurations of Itahum and Amambai II reinforce our mission to offer close support, modern facilities, and solutions that provide greater efficiency and security to producers. These investments represent the cooperative's commitment to the future of agricultural production in Mato Grosso do Sul and to each cooperative family that entrusts its work to Coamo.”
Itahum
Located about 60 kilometers from Dourados, the district had been waiting for its own cooperative structure, an expectation that grew during the construction period, which was closely monitored by producers in the region.
The newly inaugurated structure includes hoppers, double-trailer tippers, a 30-meter automated weighbridge, an operational office with pre-classification, as well as a 200 t/h dryer, bag filter, chip storage, and a machine house equipped with modern cleaning, threshing, and grain transport systems. The complex also has three surge silos and four storage silos with a capacity of 170,000 sacks each, comprising a total static capacity of 43,600 tons.
Co-op member João Azambuja was responsible for delivering the first load of soybeans to the new unit and highlighted the importance of the structure: “This inauguration was highly anticipated by all of us. We followed every stage of the construction and today we are seeing a dream come true. The new unit facilitates our daily lives, reduces the distance to deliver the grains, and shows that Coamo is always looking out for its members. I am very satisfied and grateful for this investment in our region.”
Amabai II
Also this week, operations began at Coamo's new grain receiving station in Amambai. Marking a new chapter in the cooperative's more than two decades of presence in Mato Grosso do Sul, the unit was designed to offer modernity, efficiency, and expanded service capacity.
The new unit features hoppers, tippers, a 30-meter weighbridge, a machine room equipped with complete processing systems, a 200 t/h dryer, a wood chip storage area, a bag filter, as well as three surge silos, one waste silo, and four storage silos with a capacity of 170,000 sacks each. As in Itahum, the static capacity also reaches 43,600 tons.
The first shipment received by the unit was delivered by cooperative member Edson Zanin, who commented on the importance of the project for producers: “The new Amambai unit arrives at a great time and with a truly impressive structure. We, the cooperative members, had high expectations for this inauguration because we knew how important it would be for the flow of our production. It is a huge gain for the region and a clear demonstration of Coamo's care.”
Investments
With the opening of the Itahum and Amambai II units, Coamo reaffirms its strategy of investing in modern infrastructure, expanding its presence in the state, and offering logistical solutions that guarantee competitiveness for rural producers in Mato Grosso do Sul.
The two new units begin operations at a time when the cooperative continues to expand its reach and consolidate its historical commitment to supporting and driving the development of the regions where it is present.
