Brazilian pig farming continues its growth trajectory and reinforces its relevance in national and international agribusiness. With an annual production of 5.592 million tons, the country is consolidating its position among the main suppliers of pork protein in the world.

The economic impact of the activity is significant. The Gross Value of Production (VBP) reaches R$ 63.1 billion, highlighting the weight of the production chain in generating income and developing the agricultural sector.

In foreign trade, Brazil ranks third among the world's largest exporters. It ships 1.51 million tons to 94 countries, generating revenue of US$3.6 billion. This performance reflects the competitiveness of Brazilian pork, supported by productivity gains and internationally recognized sanitary standards.

Despite a strong external presence, domestic consumption remains the main destination for production. Approximately 27,01% of the total volume is directed to exports, while the remainder serves the domestic market.

Per capita consumption reaches 19.1 kilograms per inhabitant per year, indicating stability in domestic demand. In the global ranking, Brazil still occupies the fourth position among the largest pork producers, consolidating its strategic role in the world supply of animal protein.
