Soybeans and meat lead exports through Paraná ports in the first two months.

The months of January and February saw the movement of 10,256,915 tons in Paraná's ports. There was an increase in container traffic, with growth of 11% in February and 14% in the two-month period. Chicken meat was the highlight. Shipments in the first two months totaled 434,304 tons, while in the same period of 2025 the volume was 371,202 tons.

Paraná's share of chicken protein exports represented 52% of the national total in February. In the accumulated total, the index is 49.9%, placing the port as the largest meat exporter in Brazil and the largest in the world when considering chicken.

Beef shipments also stood out in the first two months of the year: they increased from 89,711 tons in 2025 to 123,543 tons in 2026, with an average share of 29% in February and 28.6% in the two-month period.

Currently, the ports of Paraná are also the second largest export channel for soybeans in the country, representing 17.5% of the national movement in the last month alone and 29.4% of the market in the accumulated total for 2026. Shipments of soybeans in the first two months of the year were 16% higher compared to the same period in 2025, increasing from 2.06 million tons to 2.4 million tons.

The main destinations for Brazilian soybeans leaving through the Port of Paranaguá are China (80%), Vietnam (7.5%) and Iraq (6.1%). The data comes from Comex Stat, a federal government system that provides export and import data and statistics.

Another product that stood out in the two-month period was bagged sugar, which saw an increase of 81% in shipments, from 69,713 tons in 2025 to 125,875 tons in 2026. This figure is noteworthy, since in 2025 exports were stagnant due to low sugarcane production. In the accumulated total for the first two months of 2026, the exported product (bagged and in bulk), via the Port of Paranaguá, reached 11% of the national movement, the second largest share of the Brazilian market.

Meanwhile, shipments of vegetable oils increased from 158,387 tons in 2025 to 258,166 tons this year, an increase of 751 TP4T compared to February 2025 and 631 TP4T in the two-month period.

Imports

Imports in the first two months of 2026 totaled 3,882,976 tons. The main highlight in volume growth was petroleum derivatives, which include gasoline, LPG, naphtha, fuel oil, and diesel oil, totaling 681,050 tons.

Fertilizer receipts fell by 211 TP4T in the first two months of the year. The appreciation of the dollar, operational costs, and supply restrictions in some producing countries have impacted this scenario. Even so, the Port of Paranaguá accounted for 29.71 TP4T of the total volume imported last month and for 251 TP4T in the accumulated total for the year.
