With prominent roles in the Mato Grosso pig farming sector, Sorriso and Campo Verde will host the next editions of the Mato Grosso Regional Pig Farming Meeting. Organized by the Mato Grosso Pig Farmers Association (Acrismat), the event will take place on September 23rd in Sorriso and on the 25th in Campo Verde. The events will feature different programs, but will also feature the Sementes da Inovação (Swine Farming Seeds) event, organized by AgriHub. Admission is free for both events; online registration is required.
In Sorriso, the first lecture will be on "Immunocastration: An Innovative and Globalized Technology for Male and Female Swine," with veterinarian and zootechnician Fernando César Veit. The second will be given by João Carlos Arruda de Oliveira, a doctoral student in tropical agriculture, and Josimar Brito da Silva, a doctoral student in tropical agriculture, who will lecture on the environmental sustainability of the use of swine effluent in agriculture.
In Campo Verde, veterinarian Tiago Salomão Moura will be giving a lecture on swine immunocastration: evolution, efficiency, and innovation. The Sementes da Inovação project, a swine farming edition run by AgriHub, will be present on both dates. The project is an initiative that aims to drive the adoption of technologies in agribusiness in Mato Grosso, with a focus on swine farming.
Erika Segóvia, AgriHub's intelligence and new business manager, explains that the goal of Sementes da Inovação is to identify the most relevant challenges in the swine production chain and seek technological solutions that can effectively address them.
By connecting technology-based companies, startups, and the field, the project strengthens the agricultural innovation ecosystem and encourages the use of technologies in the field. "Technology is fundamental to the evolution of pig farming, enabling precise animal monitoring, improving health control, optimizing feed and operational management, and enabling the collection and analysis of technical data. All of this contributes to more assertive decision-making, increasing productivity, and enhancing competitiveness," he notes.
Acrismat President Frederico Tannure Filho reiterates the invitation to pig farmers in these regions and emphasizes the importance of these events for the industry. "The Mato Grosso Regional Pig Farming Meeting is a unique opportunity for producers, experts, and industry leaders to gather and discuss topics relevant to the pig industry in Mato Grosso. We will bring two important topics to the table and also include the participation of AgriHub, which will highlight the challenges facing the industry in the region and, in the future, present solutions to these obstacles," he noted.
