Brazil breaks record in pork exports

Data from Secex analyzed by Cepea shows that Brazilian pork exports reached 150,000 tons in September, a record considering the entire historical series of the Secretariat, which began in 1997. The volume exceeded that of August by 25% and that of September/24 by 26%.

Regarding the destinations for Brazilian pork, since February of this year, the Philippines has emerged as the main one. Researchers explain that the intense shipments to the country – and also to other destinations, both new and established – more than compensate for the constant declines observed in exports to China.

They emphasize that this scenario is the result of diligent work being carried out by representative institutions of the national swine industry, which has been conquering new markets and securing others.

49,000 tons of meat were exported to the Philippines in September, an increase of 46.5% compared to the previous month and 74% year-on-year.

In other words, shipments to the Asian country represented 32.7% of the total exported by Brazil in September, according to data from Secex analyzed by Cepea.
