Cattle ranching in Goiás and its potential in international trade will be the focus of discussions at the Agro Export Caravan, to be held on March 17th in Goiânia. The meeting will take place at the headquarters of the Goiás State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Seapa) and is part of an initiative by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) aimed at bringing producers, sector entities and strategic institutions closer to the export opportunities of Brazilian agribusiness.
Promoted in partnership with the Goiana Agricultural Defense Agency (Agrodefesa) and the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of Goiás (Faeg), the event takes place from 8 am to 6 pm and is expected to bring together specialists, representatives of the productive sector and Brazilian agricultural attachés who work in strategic markets abroad.
The program was structured to discuss the main factors influencing the competitiveness of Brazilian beef in global trade, including sanitary requirements, traceability, sustainability, and trade agreements. Topics such as import quotas and tariffs, quality standards demanded by international buyers, and strategies to expand the presence of Brazilian beef in established markets will also be on the agenda.
During the meeting, experts will present analyses on access to the Chinese market and export opportunities to the European Union, as well as discuss trade promotion initiatives and the regulatory challenges faced by the sector.
The agenda also includes lectures on bovine traceability, sustainability in livestock production, and prospects for Brazilian beef cattle farming. A roundtable discussion with representatives from the meatpacking industry, producers, and partner institutions will further explore the role of Goiás in expanding national agribusiness exports.
The expectation is that the event will strengthen the dialogue between the government, the production chain, and the international market, broadening the understanding of technical requirements and business opportunities for Brazilian livestock farming.
