The federal government will release on April 15th the list of municipalities whose farmers will receive, this April, a portion of the Garantia-Safra 2024-2025 program. The rule comes into effect this Thursday (16).

The benefit, amounting to R$1,200 (approximately $1,200 USD), will be paid in a single installment. Payments will begin in April and will be made on the same dates as the Bolsa Família payment schedule.

THE Crop Guarantee It is an insurance program aimed at small farmers with an income of up to 1.5 minimum wages, who cultivate beans, corn, or cassava in areas of 0.6 to 5 hectares and have an active and up-to-date Family Farming Registry (CAF).
Payment is made to farmers with proven production losses of at least 40% to 50% due to drought or excessive rainfall, and who have joined the program.
The benefit can be requested via CAIXA Tem app, lottery outlets or Caixa branches.
Farmers with any outstanding issues or inaccuracies in their registration have up to 30 days to regularize their situation and subsequently receive the benefit. The consultation can be done on the website of... Ministry of Agrarian Development and Family Farming (MDA).
The Garantia-Safra program is linked to National Program for Strengthening Family Farming (Pronaf), with the aim of ensuring minimum survival conditions for family farmers whose production is systematically affected by losses resulting from drought or excessive rainfall.
