To share forecasts for the state's harvest, the São Paulo Wheat Sector Chamber will hold its first meeting of the year on March 13, at the Capão Bonito Cooperative, in Capão Bonito (SP). The meeting will also be broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Wheat Industry Union of the State of São Paulo (Sindustrigo).

In addition to the state's planting panorama, with reports from São Paulo cooperatives on producers' projections for wheat production, the meeting will feature a talk by Safras & Mercado analyst Élcio Bento, who will present the wheat market situation in the national and international scenarios.
“Our expectation for the first meeting of the year is good news about the increase in area and production. This is a reality that depends on other factors, such as the weather and other winter crops, but wheat prices are still attractive and we expect them to remain the same, or even slightly increase, compared to the last harvest,” comments the president of the Sector Chamber, Nelson Montagna.
The meeting will also feature the participation of Gustavo Chimarelli, from OR Sementes; Pedro Palessio, from GDM Seeds; and a representative from the Agronomic Institute (IAC), who will evaluate the available varieties, in addition to presenting new products for the next harvest.
In the opinion of the president of the Sector Chamber, although São Paulo wheat has a higher average quality, there is still room for improvement. “The varieties are good, but it is in the field, under various factors such as climate and management, that we see the true results. Even so, if we maintain the current quality, we will already serve our industry very well”, concludes Montagna.
