Goiás sees a 166.51% increase in agricultural employment.

Goiás ended 2025 with growth in the generation of formal jobs in agriculture, registering a positive balance of 2,220 jobs, which represents an increase of 166.51% compared to 2024, when the balance was 833 jobs. The data comes from the New General Registry of Employed and Unemployed Workers (Novo Caged), validated by the Mauro Borges Institute of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies (IMB).

Last year, the agricultural sector in Goiás recorded 92,953 new hires, a growth of 3.81% compared to 2024. This growth was also reflected in the total number of jobs, which increased by 1.81% in the same period, resulting in 124,856 active jobs in 2025.

According to the head of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Seapa), Pedro Leonardo Rezende, the positive result is a direct reflection of the actions taken by the Government of Goiás. “In a period of one year, the net job creation in agriculture jumped more than 100%, and this demonstrates that our public policies aimed at strengthening the countryside are generating evident results,” he highlighted.

Strengthening the sector

The results achieved by Goiás's agricultural sector throughout 2025 are directly associated with the strategy adopted by the Government of Goiás to strengthen the rural environment, through coordinated actions by SEAPA (State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply) and its affiliated agencies. This action involves public policies focused on productive inclusion, workforce training, production incentives, and ongoing support for producers.

Among the actions being implemented are training courses for Rural Credit, strengthening the Municipal Inspection Service (SIM), encouraging the application of the Constitutional Financing Fund for the Midwest (FCO Rural), the Bovine Genetic Improvement Program for Family Farming, the Project to Improve the Quality of Small-Scale Agro-industries, and expanding technical assistance.
