The broiler poultry industry recorded growth of 8.68% in the gross value of production in 2025, resulting from an increase of 5.08% in prices and an expansion of 3.43% in annual production, according to data from the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea), in partnership with the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA).

At the beginning of the year, projections indicated more moderate growth, given relatively stable prices compared to 2024. From the second quarter onwards, the market began to register an increase in the price of live chickens, driven by increased demand.
In May, the confirmation of a case of highly pathogenic avian influenza on a commercial farm led to the temporary suspension of exports to some important destinations. Part of the production was redirected to the domestic market, which put pressure on prices for several months.
Sanitary controls allowed the country to recover its status in the second half of the year, enabling the gradual resumption of exports. As a result, shipments began to grow again and prices started to react.

In October, prices for live chicken and chicken meat rose, supported by the recovery in exports and stronger domestic demand, associated with the end-of-year consumption period and changes in families' eating patterns.
In November, prices halted their upward trend and registered a slight decline in monthly averages, reflecting a greater supply of animals for slaughter. Even so, the market showed little fluctuation, indicating a balance between supply and demand.
In the year-to-date assessment, the poultry industry maintained a positive performance, with exports exceeding those of 2024, higher average prices, and more favorable production costs. The drop in soybean meal prices contributed to increasing producers' purchasing power and sustaining the profitability of the activity.
