Poultry farming for egg production registered growth of 11.66% in gross production value in 2025, driven by a 5.80% increase in prices and a 5.54% expansion in production, according to data from the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea), in partnership with the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA).

The year was marked by record production and exports, even in the face of health challenges related to avian influenza. At the beginning of 2025, the combination of limited supply and increased demand, influenced by the return to school and the Lenten period, led prices to the highest real levels in the Cepea historical series.
Starting in April, the increase in domestic supply began to put pressure on prices. Even so, the growth in exports helped to reduce the impact of the decline in the domestic market. Internationally, the spread of avian flu in several countries restricted global supply and opened up opportunities for Brazilian products.
Shipments of fresh and processed eggs have grown significantly over the years.

This year. Between January and November, the volume exported reached 38,640 tons, more than double that recorded in the same period of 2024.
In the fourth quarter, the market again experienced downward pressure on prices. High supply and weakening domestic demand limited the recovery in prices. In October and November, the slower pace of sales led wholesalers and retailers to push for discounts, while farm inventories increased.
In December, prices remained low, influenced by the seasonality of the period and weakened consumption. In some regions, prices reached their lowest real levels for the month since 2022.
