Frísia Cooperativa Agroindustrial, headquartered in Carambeí (PR), announces the signing of a contract to acquire a soybean crushing plant in Ponta Grossa (PR). The plant has a processing capacity of 3,400 tons of soybeans per day.
The industrial complex belongs to the multinational company Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC). Current employees will remain at the facility.
“The acquisition of this industrial unit represents a significant advance for the cooperative movement in Paraná, adding value for its members and boosting regional development. The vertical integration of production, made possible by this unit, is a fundamental pillar of our Strategic Plan for the 2025-2030 cycle. By integrating production stages, from receiving raw materials to the industrialization and commercialization of derivatives, we increase our efficiency, strengthen our competitiveness, and guarantee greater autonomy to face market challenges,” highlights the superintendent of the Frísia Cooperative, Mario Dykstra.
Located on a 58.08-hectare site, the unit's structure includes: a grain reception, processing, and storage area with a static capacity of 300,000 tons; a soybean preparation area; oil and meal extraction; degumming and packaging of lecithin; and a refinery.
The crushing plant will focus on the production of degummed soybean oil, primarily intended for the manufacture of biofuels, and soybean meal for both the domestic market and export, as well as other products such as lecithin and soybean hulls, used in the food industry for human consumption and animal feed.
For the operation to be managed by the cooperative, approval from the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) is still required, as well as the completion of the transfer of licenses and authorizations. It is estimated that this process will be finalized by the second half of 2026.
