Researchers at Cepea indicate that Brazilian beef production continues to grow, but the increase in external demand is even greater.
Data from IBGE shows that, in the first quarter of this year, production increased by 2.73% compared to the same period in 2024.
Brazilian beef exports, in turn, grew by almost 12% in the same comparison, according to figures from Secex. In the first quarter, the IBGE indicates that 64,925 thousand more tons of meat were produced compared to the first three months of last year.
Foreign sales increased by 70,972 thousand tons (Secex). The prices of both beef and meat had already signaled this scenario, according to surveys by Cepea.
The CEPEA/ESALQ Live Cattle Indicator (state of São Paulo) was 22% higher, in real terms (deflated by the IGP-DI), than in the first quarter of 2024. In the same comparison, the wholesale beef carcass in Greater São Paulo appreciated by 23.8%.
