Mato Grosso promotes beef at international fairs in Bolivia and Peru

Mato Grosso begins promoting, starting this Friday (19), the beef produced in the state at two important international fairs, in Bolivia and Peru. Among the scheduled actions are meetings with potential importers of animal protein and the promotion of the benefits of expanding trade with the two countries.

The Mato Grosso Meat Institute (Imac), in partnership with the State Secretariat for Economic Development (Sedec), Sebrae and Invest MT, leads the state's participation, highlighting the quality, sustainability and potential of Mato Grosso in the international meat market.

In Bolivia, the highlight is ExpoCruz, held in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, the largest multi-sector event in Latin America. The fair serves as a strategic platform for companies seeking access to international markets, in addition to enabling institutional promotion and strengthening commercial networks throughout the Latin American region.

In 2025, Mato Grosso exported 47 tons of boneless beef and 287 tons of other beef tallow to Bolivia, generating revenue of over US$1,500,000.

"The Mato Grosso Meat Institute's participation in ExpoCruz is strategic for expanding the presence of our meat in international markets. Bolivia has proven to be an increasingly important trading partner, and being present at one of Latin America's largest multi-sector fairs strengthens Mato Grosso's image as a benchmark for quality, sustainability, and food safety," says Henrique Prado Olvido de Miranda, administrative and financial director of Imac.

In Peru, participation will take place from September 24th to 26th at Expoalimentaria, considered the most important food and beverage trade show in Latin America. The event serves as a business platform and meeting point for key players in distribution, retail, the Horeca sector (hospitality, foodservice, and catering services), as well as specialized channels in the national and international markets.

For the Peruvian market, 10 meatpacking plants in Mato Grosso are authorized, having exported 140 tons of beef offal this year, generating revenue of US$1,500,000.

"Participating in Expoalimentaria is a strategic opportunity for the sector, given Brazil's competitive and consolidated market. It's an opportunity to reinforce to consumers and the local industry that our production system is a benchmark in socio-environmental attributes, with a large supply capacity and superior quality. Our meat combines characteristics that meet the most demanding international standards, standing out for its tenderness, intense flavor, and succulence," emphasizes Henrique Miranda.
