The flow of the 2025/26 harvest through the Northern Arc has received a logistical boost with investments exceeding R$400 million in the BR-364 highway in Rondônia. The road corridor connects Vilhena, on the border with Mato Grosso, to the port terminals of Porto Velho and is expected to move around 6.5 million tons of grains by May, according to estimates from Embrapa.

The 720.5-kilometer stretch is operated by the concessionaire Nova 364 and is considered a strategic axis for regional production, linking logistics corridors that connect states in the North to Maranhão. In 2025, resources were allocated to operational processes, acquisition of machinery and equipment, pavement rehabilitation, revitalization of signage, and implementation of 14 operational bases with 24-hour medical and mechanical assistance.
Direct impact on shipping costs
The investments target a historical problem in the local road network. According to the CNT Highway Survey 2025, from National Confederation of TransportInadequate road maintenance increases transportation costs in Rondônia by 38.1%.
This year alone, diesel waste and premature fleet wear have generated an estimated loss of R$155.65 million for transporters in the state. “Unlike the invisible cost of inefficiency and potholes, toll revenue is reinvested in improvements, enhancements, and highway maintenance, providing direct positive impacts on the producer's profit margin, reflected in lower fuel consumption, greater logistical predictability, and increased safety,” says Wagner Martins, CEO of Nova 364.
24-hour structure on the grain route
The harvest operation employs over 600 people and has a fleet comprised of heavy-duty tow trucks, ambulances, and inspection vehicles. Assistance can be requested by calling 0800 0 364 364 or through the dealership's official app.
BR-364 is considered one of the main arteries for transporting agricultural production from the Midwest to the ports of the North, within the strategy of consolidating the Northern Arc as a logistical alternative to the traditional corridors of the Southeast and South.
