Grain harvest in Paraná could increase by 306,000 tons, according to IBGE.

The Systematic Survey of Agricultural Production (LSPA) released this Friday (13) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) indicates that Paraná should produce 306,400 tons more of grains than the previous projection, released in February. It is the fourth largest increase in the country, behind only Bahia (652,200 tons), Goiás (424,000 t) and Minas Gerais (321,200 t). The largest negative variation occurred in Rio Grande do Sul (-359,430 t).

According to the survey, Paraná, with a production of 22.3 million tons, is expected to have the second largest harvest volume in the country this year, with a growth of 4.31 TP4T compared to the volume of 2025. The state accounts for 13.91 TP4T of national production, the second largest indicator, behind only Mato Grosso (48.5 million tons). Mato Grosso do Sul, in third place, expects a production of 15 million tons, a growth of 141 TP4T over last year's total.

The national estimate for cereals, legumes, and oilseeds is 344.1 million tons, 0.6% less than that obtained in 2025 (346.1 million tons). The area to be harvested was 82.9 million hectares, an increase of 1.6% compared to 2025. In relation to the January estimate, the area to be harvested grew by 0.3%.

In Paraná, the main positive changes are in soybeans, corn, and beans. For soybeans, Paraná expects a harvest of 22.3 million tons, the second largest volume harvested in the country, representing a growth of 4.31 TP4T compared to the volume harvested in 2025. The national estimate reached a new record in the historical series for 2026, totaling 173.3 million tons, 0.41 TP4T above January and 4.31 TP4T greater than that produced in 2025.

Regarding corn, Paraná, the second largest national producer, registered a growth of 1.6% in area, totaling 17.5 million tons and an average yield of 6,125 kg/ha. The state has a 16.6% share in this crop.
