Negotiations remained focused in Brazil's main corn production and marketing regions last week.
Researchers at Cepea indicate that, while buyers prioritized using stocks negotiated in advance and remained attentive to the summer crop harvest, sellers limited the supply of lots, concerned about the irregular weather during the period.
In this context, according to researchers at Cepea, prices registered slight adjustments, with regional supply and demand prevailing. In the São Paulo region, slight price increases were observed, supported by a limited number of sellers. In the South and Midwest, however, price decreases prevailed.
According to Cepea, the pressure came from the progress of the summer corn harvest in the southern states, high carryover stocks, and also the robust soybean harvest in the Midwest. This context makes producers more interested in and need to negotiate the grain, even if at relatively stable levels.
