Data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) shows that shipments totaled 262,000 tons in the month, a volume 20% higher than that recorded in May 2025. The growth confirms the continued international demand for Brazilian protein and contributed to the positive result of the agribusiness trade balance.

The main highlight, however, was the price behavior. The ton of exported beef reached an average value of US$6,505, representing an increase of 25% compared to the same period last year. Compared to April of this year, when the average price was already at a high level, the increase was 4.22%.

Combining increased volume and higher prices, revenue generated by exports reached US$1.7 billion in May. The result reinforces the

The importance of beef among the main products in the Brazilian agribusiness export portfolio.

The protein's performance occurred in a month of growth in exports from the agricultural sector as a whole. According to Secex, Brazilian agribusiness exports totaled US$16 billion in May 2026, an increase of 8.21% compared to the same month of the previous year.

The numbers indicate that the appreciation of beef in the international market continues to be one of the factors sustaining the revenue of the Brazilian export sector. Even in a scenario of increased global protein supply, prices continue on an upward trajectory, contributing to higher national export revenues.
