Paraná projects a harvest of 43 million tons of soybeans and corn in the 2025/26 season.

Soybeans remain the standout crop in Paraná's harvest, nearing completion with a robust harvest estimated at 21.7 million tons, according to [source missing]. Subjective Crop Forecast (SCP), released last Thursday (30) by the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply.

Although the volume is slightly lower than last month's, it still exceeds the amount harvested in the previous cycle. The planted area consolidated at 5.75 million hectares.

Corn is also in a favorable scenario. Although the lack of rain in recent weeks has kept producers on alert, the return of rainfall throughout the state in recent days maintains expectations of a large harvest. According to Deral, the first corn crop was completed with 3.9 million tons. The second crop, which is the largest, is already projected to yield around 17.4 million tons, for a planted area that tends to be the largest in recent years, with 2.9 million hectares.

Deral analyst Edmar Gervasio points out that the results for both soybeans and corn are not expected to show significant changes. "The first corn and soybean harvests are consolidated. Eventually, we may see minor adjustments in area and production, mainly for corn, due to weather conditions, but there will be no major changes to these figures that are already in place."

“In the case of soybeans, the 21.7 million tons is already a slight increase compared to the previous cycle, even with a reduction in planted area. We can consider it an excellent production,” explains Gervasio.

Economic bulletin

In addition to the crop data, Deral released the Economic Bulletin This last week of April details the behavior of the state's main crops in the face of recent strategic revisions and climate challenges.

Along with analyses of soybeans, corn, and beans, the document highlights fruit farming, focusing on kiwifruit, a crop that is gaining importance in the South and South-Central regions of Paraná. According to figures for the state, the fruit generated a Gross Production Value (VBP) of R$ 20.7 million, with the municipality of Antônio Olinto standing out.

The market shows high potential for appreciation, given that the average price received by producers in 2025 (R$ 11.89/kg) was 50.5% higher than the previous harvest. Currently, Paraná is trying to expand its share in a national market still dominated by imports from Chile and Greece.

In the animal protein sector, Paraná reaffirms its hegemony in poultry farming, consolidating itself as the largest exporter of meat.

The state accounts for 42.3% of the total volume exported by Brazil and also leads the national production of fertile eggs for incubation, with 270.4 million dozen produced in 2025, an increase of 5.5%.

In dairy farming, the scenario continues to be one of falling margins due to high nutrition costs and increased imports. The exchange rate between milk and soybean meal has risen. In March 2025, with the price of milk being R$ 2.81 per liter, the producer needed 27.7 liters to purchase a sack of corn (R$ 77.90), indicating higher production costs.
