Mato Grosso records its highest beef export volume in history.

Mato Grosso ended November with the highest volume of beef exports ever recorded by the state. A total of 112,800 tons were sent to the international market in that month alone—a historical record. In the accumulated period from January to November, the state also surpassed all previous records, reaching 867,700 tons shipped, a growth of 23.81% compared to the same period last year, which had already been the best performance until then.

In November of this year, the state surpassed the amount of beef exported during 2024, when 759,300 tons of beef protein were sold. This progress reinforces Mato Grosso's position as the largest Brazilian exporter of beef and one of the main global suppliers.

“These numbers show, once again, the strength of Mato Grosso's livestock industry on the international stage. It's not just about volume: we are exporting increasingly competitive and sustainable meat, aligned with the demands of the world's main markets. The record performance in November proves that the sector is prepared to grow responsibly, expanding access to new destinations and strengthening global confidence in meat produced in Mato Grosso,” says Bruno de Jesus Andrade, Projects Director of the Mato Grosso Institute of Meat (Imac).

According to data from the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), the result was mainly driven by the significant increase in shipments to China, which remains the main destination and accounts for 54.8% of all beef exported by the state in 2025. The Asian country maintains a strong demand for high-quality protein, which favors the competitiveness of Mato Grosso.

In addition to China, markets such as Russia and Chile have increased their purchases throughout the year. This movement reflects, in part, the increased competitiveness of Mato Grosso beef, benefiting from production efficiency, growing traceability, and the strengthening of socio-environmental practices.

“When we see China, Russia, Chile, and other markets increasing their purchases, it means that Mato Grosso beef is gaining competitiveness due to its quality, predictability, and the sustainability of its production system. This moment consolidates the state as a global leader and opens up space for us to advance even further in valuing and differentiating our protein,” emphasizes Bruno Andrade.

In addition to boosting the productive sector, this historical performance reinforces the economic importance of livestock farming for Mato Grosso. In 2025, the state generated more than US$$ 3 billion in meat exports, contributing to the Brazilian trade balance surplus and generating income throughout the chain — from beef cattle farming to the meatpacking industry.
